Halsey talks to Nylon about new about-face beauty concealer
admin / Nov 20th, 2025   about-face,Interviews,News,Photos,Photoshoots

Halsey has launched her new about-face beauty concealer, The Illusionist, which is available in 32 shades and five undertones. It is available now at aboutface.com and is priced at $22. The formula, which was designed to pair with the about-face beauty Performer Foundation, is infused with blue agave, wild cranberry peptides and chlorella for plumping and hydrating purposes. Halsey spoke to Nylon about the launch, which you can read here or below.

Halsey is a true multihyphenate: bad at love, great at impersonations, and even better at creating makeup girls, gays, and everyone in between can use. Her latest venture with her makeup empire at About-Face goes beyond the party-ready metallics and essential lip products. The newest addition to her offerings is a stage-ready concealer — and the name is just as cheeky as you’d expect.

The acclaimed singer already has enough on her plate at the minute — more on that in a second — but the launch of a concealer called “The Illusionist” came at just the right time, and after lots of testing, it’s ready for the world. “I have always been really particular about products that will work hard and still support the health of my skin. While we were launching The Performer Foundation, we were quietly perfecting what would become The Illusionist concealer,” she tells NYLON exclusively. “Our community has been asking for it forever — and as a performer who does my own makeup, I know how essential it is to have a concealer that lasts, feels weightless, and looks incredible.”

The formula has skin care ingredients like blue agave, wild cranberry peptides, and chlorella, which all lend themselves to a second-skin feel for under-eye application and trouble spots. It’s the opposite of a cakey, chunky concealer that immediately creases — it glides on with the important touch of a doe-foot applicator. Best of all, The Illusionist comes in 32 shades with undertones for every variant of pink-blue-purple under-eyes — perfect to pair with about-face’s The Performer foundation.

What could possibly be a better place to show off just how well the 16-hour-wear concealer works than on stage? “I’m heading into the second leg of the Badlands tour, where I do a completely different look every single night, and The Illusionist concealer has already become a nonnegotiable in every routine!” Halsey tells NYLON. While we anxiously await Halsey’s three-night run in New York — where we hope to see not only the classic Badlands blue hair, but many other callbacks to Halsey’s iconic first era — you can find tickets in your area here.

Halsey launches about-face beauty concealer
admin / Nov 20th, 2025   about-face,Interviews,News,Photos,Photoshoots

Halsey has launched her new about-face beauty concealer, The Illusionist, which is available in 32 shades and five undertones. It is available now at aboutface.com and is priced at $22. The formula, which was designed to pair with the about-face beauty Performer Foundation, is infused with blue agave, wild cranberry peptides and chlorella for plumping and hydrating purposes. Halsey spoke to WWD about the launch, which you can read here or below.

Concealer, Halsey told WWD, has been top of mind for the brand ever since the launch of its Performer Foundation — a cruelty-free, “skin-optimizing” formula made with blue agave, chlorella and wintergreen — went mega viral in 2024.

“Our community has been asking for a concealer, and after three years of relentlessly testing and perfecting the formula, I’m so excited The Illusionist Concealer is finally here,” she said, adding that this product is the “perfect match” for the cult-favorite foundation. “About-Face is all about high-performance makeup and we will always strive for and continue to develop products that deliver and encourage everyone to express themselves through makeup.”

The concealer, like the foundation, is packaged in a sleek, futuristic bottle with a metal cube top. The wide paddle applicator was especially designed to help move and blend the formula in the skin for a non-cakey, non-comedogenic finish that promises to last up to 16 hours. According to About-Face, 96 percent of participants in its product study reported noticing an “instant reduction in appearance of dark circles.”

About-Face has always let its consumers take the wheel when it comes to new product innovation and major retail moves. A year after its inaugural debut, the brand made its brick-and-mortar foray, entering 550 Ulta Beauty doors with its Matte Fluid Eye Paint via the Sparked program, a platform championing the next generation of beauty change-makers. Entrusting Ulta with its first retail endeavour was a “no-brainer,” Halsey told WWD at the time, especially when the purpose was to make the brand more accessible to its shoppers. More than that, Halsey understood that many consumers, like herself, view Ulta as a safe space, a place to explore on their own terms.

“Makeup is part of my job, not just as the founder of a company, but as a musician who does their own makeup. When I need to step out, I’ll replenish my [makeup] kit… they’re in suburban neighborhoods, and when I go I don’t really have to be Halsey, I can just be Ash, shopping for makeup,” she said.

As for why she decided to introduce her own brand within the already competitive — albeit oversaturated — market of celebrity beauty, she noted: “I have a very specific vision, and there’s a very specific way I want people to feel when they interact with the things I’m making.”

Vogue explores Halsey’s fantasy-filled stage wardrobe
admin / Jul 3rd, 2025   For My Last Trick Tour,Interviews,News,Performances,Photos,Photoshoots

Halsey spoke to Vogue about her For My Last Trick Tour, including her fantasy-filled stage wardrobe. The article is also accompanied by some photos taken both on-stage and backstage by Jasmine Safaeian. Read the full article below.

This weekend, Halsey will close out the last few dates of her For My Last Trick tour. Since May, the pop star has been busy living life on the road—performing songs off her 2024 album, The Great Impersonator. “This has been the most exciting and challenging tour I have ever done,” says Halsey. “I’ve just been so overwhelmingly grateful every single night. I didn’t know if I was ever going to get the chance to tour again. Being healthy, and feeling strong in my body every night, and playing songs from the past 10 years of my career, is such a surreal experience.”

Halsey is no stranger to a big, blowout tour. But this time around, the performer wanted to take a more narrative and theatrical approach with her show. Drawing inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, she plays the part of a pop star who falls down a rabbit hole—and enters a series of new worlds, playing her bops along the way for fans. “I got to work with so many incredible creatives from the Broadway world to make these practical sets (and practical tricks) come to life,” she says. “It was so refreshing to build a tour that relied so heavily on physical sets and performance art, in a space that is growing more and more digitally rendered every day. Something about it felt so human to me—and I really needed that.”

Impressively, Halsey played an entirely different setlist every night of her tour. “I think by the end we had performed almost 70 different songs,” says Halsey. “I got to surprise each crowd with an old hit, or a new deep cut. I even played two new unreleased songs, ‘Carry the Weight’ and ‘Lucid,’ that I wrote while I was on the tour. It was just so electric and exciting every single night.”

For stage looks, meanwhile, Halsey matched the flamboyant spirit of the show with costumes that were just as spotlight-worthy. The star worked with stylist Lyn Alyson to craft a series of different moods and characters throughout the show. The designs they came up with were surreal and entirely fantasy-filled. “I wanted to incorporate classic silhouettes from iconic designers, but also bring some new talent to the stage as well,” says Halsey.

There were the edgy, fetish-inspired Zana Bayne looks; ethereal and dreamy Selkie frocks—“Selkie has been a personal favorite of mine for years,” Halsey says; or the more structured and corseted pieces by Vivienne Westwood. “I have a long relationship with Vivienne Westwood, and her designs and spirit have always felt quintessentially me,” says Halsey. “I knew we’d use a Vivienne silhouette for the witchy section of the show.” Halsey also sported a sweet blue Anna Sui babydoll dress—her homage to Alice in Wonderland. “I knew I’d need a babydoll dress that was perfectly cute and toylike to establish the Alice in Wonderland theme.”

While she enlisted the help of the stylist pros to bring her stage wardrobe to life, Halsey’s striking beauty looks, meanwhile, were all her own. Using products from her brand, about-face beauty, the star treated her face as a canvas for even more storytelling. “The [makeup] look had to evolve for each [act], and they are very dynamically different,” says Halsey. She began with an Old Hollywood look, and transformed into an edgier, witchier beauty aesthetic as the show progresses. “In the intermission, I have four minutes to do a full makeup, wig, wardrobe, and equipment change. It’s a wild ride every night,” says Halsey. “I change over the look by building on the eyes, the contour, and changing the lip. It all becomes a lot more grungy and undone.”

Last week, as the singer played her final shows of the tour in Salt Lake, Portland, and Seattle, Halsey allowed Vogue to document the performances and behind-the-scenes moments. “The [shows] were awesome,” says Halsey, who admits this tour has been one for the books. “This tour is definitely at the top in terms of morale of any I’ve ever done. Everyone is just so awesome: The dancers, the crew, the band. We all just hang out, have fun, and joke around, and it makes every day feel like we’re on some big lovey summer camp vacation. Hard to believe it can be that good after a decade.”

Now that tour is wrapping up, Halsey says she is ready for some much-deserved R&R. “I’m ready to go home and nap for a week straight,” she says. “Catch up on some shows and movies I’m behind on. I have some bread to bake, tomatoes to slice, and some little barefoot feet to chase in the grass. Then it’s back to work, cause I can’t play new songs and not get ready to release them!”
