all over the place. when I started writing it, I thought it might be the last album I ever got the chance to make. so I tried to do whatever I’d been wanting to do, but hadn’t tried yet ⭐️

@autumnplains: What’s the inspiration behind this album?
I wrote a lot about what I was going through. I felt like I couldn’t tell anyone, though it was mostly my choice to not. but the weight of it all and looking at my life wondering if I was happy with who I was. While simultaneously changing against my will. more on that later lol

@badatlove1121: Has Britney reacted to your song yet!? Have you involved her at all?
yes of course! I wouldn’t even dream of doing it without her blessing!

@ameliameshell: What was the first song you wrote for the album?
The End 🙂 I updated some of the lyrics as my life changed. Believe it or not it was a lot sadder before haha. but it’s mostly the same as the very first voice note

I used to listen to demos / mixes in the car when I was driving him to his little pre-school and he would say “mommy this is a REAL GOOD song!” sometimes haha

I started again when I had my son! It wasn’t nearly as scary as I had worked myself up to think lol

@halseyscardigan: how do you feel about sharing your most intimate feelings and personal life with us?
so basically, I tried to take a break for some privacy. And then I got sick. And the break lasted 2 years longer than I had wanted/intended. and I was just desperate to do the thing I love again. It’s different now. But I still love it and I have so much gratitude.

I worked the most with Michael Uzi and Alex G both who I adore. They had already worked together on Frank, so we all folded into an awesome rhythm that was full of experimentation. and then Greg kurstin who I alwayssss work with and would die for
